"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... It remembers the little things, long after you have forgotten everything."

FAQ

when is the best time for a newborn session?

The best time for newborn sessions is during the first two weeks of life. Babies this age still sleep a lot, so they are easy to work with. Also, their skin is still usually smooth and creamy. It is best to schedule your session before baby arrives.

do you use props?

When you look through my galleries, you will see that I don't use props in my photos. I aim to capture the people as they are, their connections to one another and to the camera, and let them be the focus of the images. I do, however, bring baskets, bowls, swaddling wraps and blankets to newborn sessions.

what is a family session like?

Child and family sessions are high energy! Sessions with young children can be fun and a bit stressful all at the same time. I have four young children so I totally get it! I will prepare you well before the session and have lots of tips and tricks (and sometimes treats) up my sleeve to get those genuine smiles.

do you offer digital files and prints?

I do! Included in your session fee are all of the digital files with rights to print. I want you to be able to enjoy all of them again and again. Additionally, I offer professional prints at very affordable prices. I don't want your beautiful photos to sit on your computer. I want you to be able to hold them and see the beauty of professional prints and find the perfect place in your home for them!

Should I book a full session or a mini?

Mini sessions are great if you just want a handful of family portraits and updated photos of your children. These are offered on a limited basis and are great for holiday cards, maternity sessions, and milestone sessions for babies. However, if you want to capture those "candid" looking shots of your family interacting together, different groupings of family members, and individuals of your children, I highly recommend a full session. Sometimes it takes a little while for people to loosen up and get comfortable in front of the camera. And sometimes young children need to takes breaks during a session. Full sessions allow time for all of this, time for moving around within the location, and time for me to guide you into different poses to get a variety of images.
